PORT OF ADRIA TRIPLES CAPACITY
On 6th September 2017, Port of Adria JSC Bar hosted a ceremony announcing the official operational launch of the new container crane STSG Liebherr P137 WS L-Super.
By acquiring the new crane, together with the existing one, and completed investments such as universal mobile crane Gottwald HMK 260 E, new horizontal equipment, new terminal operating software, infrastructure and human resources investments, Port of Adria has tripled its container handling capacity from 17-18 moves per hour on average to 50 moves per hour on average.
New crane is manufactured by renowned German company Liebherr, model P137 gantry type, with seaside reach of 137 feet (42m), enough to reach 14 container row on vessel. Its landside reach is 14m with carrying capacity of 68 t with the hook, and is equipped with twin lift spreader able to lift two 20 feet containers simultaneously.
Mr. Duško Marković, the Prime Minister of Montenegro and Mr. Mehmet Kutman, Chairman of Global Ports Holding which is the owner of Port of Adria and leading international port operator, officially launched this modern €6.4 million worth crane, during ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event was attended by numerous guests from Government of Montenegro, Turkish Embassy in Montenegro, maritime governmental bodies and partners from Montenegro and the region.
